Inklings' Books & Coffee is located right in the heart of Downtown Blue Springs. Our Blue Springs Downtown Alive! Group, Blue Springs Parks & Rec, and Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce host a variety of great events throughout the year. We have a great community, with great neighbors. Blue Springs Farmer’s Market

SATURDAYS @ 7:00 am - 12:00 pm

The market specializes in home grown fruits, vegetables, flowers, meats and many other items that are grown or made by hand. The Blue Springs Farmers Market begins the first weekend in May and goes through to the last weekend in October. The market is open every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Second Saturdays

Thru October @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Artists, makers and merchants are invited to bring merchandise to sell each Second Saturday from 4-8 p.m. along 11th Street. This event will be no charge to attendees or people selling items and will be held rain or shine. All spaces are on a first-come, first-served basis; sellers are welcome to bring tables and tents. Each month will bring a different mix of sellers, artists, makers, and activities and we’ll have different musical entertainment scheduled. If you are a interested in participating in an upcoming Second Saturday event, please contact Pam Wheeler at 816-805-8356.



Car Cruise

SECOND SATURDAYS thru September @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

View the latest innovations in car restoration from exhibitors, enjoy a friendly atmosphere, and delicious concession treats and sodas. Bring the family and enjoy a terrific evening in downtown Blue Springs.  Cruises will be held the second Saturday of the month, April through August, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.. Located in Downtown Blue Springs on Main Street between 10th & 12th Streets, come out and enjoy the sight of Custom Vehicles, Custom Cars, Muscle Cars, Trucks, and Hot Rods!




Fall Fun Festival

September 15 @ 12:00 pm - September 17 @ 5:00 pm

Join the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce and Saint Luke's East Hospital for one of the biggest events of the year! Fall Fun Festival is right around the corner, and we want you to be a part of the excitement too! Festival Includes: Carnival, Parade, County Beverage Beer Garden, 2 stages with Live entertainment, car show, Kidz Zone, and much, MUCH more! Also, our headliner in the Beer Garden on Friday Night is Casi Joy, a recent contestant on The Voice from Smithville, Missouri! It's going to be a GREAT event, and you do NOT want to miss this!


National Night Out

Join us as we celebrate the 19th Annual National Night Out event with , food, entertainment, games and prizes! This free, community event educates children and adults about police operations, crime prevention, general public safety and the danger of drugs.



Chili Lunch Fundraiser

October 16 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join us for our annual Chili Lunch Fundraiser! Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. This fundraiser benefits Blue Springs Downtown Alive! and our vision to engage in historic preservation, revitalization activities and education; by encouraging the cooperation of downtown merchants, property owners, residents and partners, creating a positive image of downtown, strengthening the economic base and providing design education to improve the appearance and vitality of the Downtown Area. Help support YOUR Downtown!

Trick or Treat Main Street

Free event! Come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume and check out our downtown merchants as they open their businesses and store fronts for children to trick-or-treat in a fun and safe environment. Activities include, games, kid’s crafts, face painting and a bounce house!



Stranger Springs Pub Crawl

Think ghost stories are just for kids? Think again! The Stranger Springs Pub Crawl is just for adults (ages 21 and older, no exceptions.) Learn about our macabre history and enjoy spirits with the spirits, as we explore Historic and Haunted Downtown Blue Springs locations. Participants will receive a souvenir koozie, enjoy drink specials at every stop, meet and greet Hector Lugo with the 10th Dimension Paranormal Group and be entered into a costume contest with prizes to die for!

Tickets on sale in September! $25 per person, drinks not included. Space is limited! Registration and Tours begin at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 903 W Main Street.

Mayor’s Christmas Tree

December 5 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us when the Mayor throws the switch that lights this very special Christmas Tree just outside City Hall, 903 West Main Street. Enjoy entertainment by local schools and community groups as well as free refreshments. Santa and other special guests join the festivities.
